Starting in September 2014, SLH Dance Academy has grown from a few classes on a Saturday morning to a well respected dance school in Lewes, East Sussex. Now with over 150 pupils attending regular weekly classes we strive to provide nurturing, positive and professional dance classes for children and pupils of all ages and abilities. We are passionate about inspiring pupils to develop a love for dance and aim to give all pupils the tools to confidently flourish on their own dance journey whether that be as a hobby or more seriously. 

Children can start their dance journey from the age of 2 years old in our pre-school dance classes which spark their imaginations and allow them to develop the basic movement skills through the use of story telling, props, rhymes and more. Once children start school they then progress onto our ISTD syllabus classes and they can undertake other styles such as Ballet, Tap and Modern. From 5 years old pupils can also start our extremely popular Musical Theatre lessons which enable children to develop their performance skills in singing, dancing and acting. These classes are great for developing confidence and as pupils get older these classes really help pupils to become “triple threat” performers!

As pupils get older they can continue to progress through the ISTD grades and work towards examinations in all their classes. We are proud to have a 100% pass rate which is a testament to pupils and staff hard work and dedication.  Throughout the year we also offer other performance opportunities such as shows, choreographic competitions, workshops, local performances at fetes, holiday clubs which are always a highlight for all involved!
