Dear Parents and Guardians
I can’t believe we have reached the end of term already! It has been a great term welcoming lots of new faces and everyone is progressing well in classes!
Here are a few reminders for you as we approach the end of term on Tuesday 11th December.

Exams February 2019
The Monday Grade 1 Ballet class are working extremely hard in class and some pupils will be ready to take their exam in February 2019. Please pencil Sunday 10th February in your diaries if your child is in this class. I will be sending more information about this to those involved ASAP. I am also planning a BIG exam session in the summer for lots of other classes and details/dates will be sent out in the New Year.
Choreographic Competition 2019
Next summer we will be holding the first Choreographic competition at SLH Dance Academy. This will be a fab chance for pupils to create and choreograph their own solos, duets, trios or small group pieces of any style. More details will be revealed in the New Year but your children might want to start brainstorming ideas over the holidays!!
St Mary’s Pantomime 2019
Excited that Georgie.B, Olive, Lola.M, Jessica.L and Grace.H will be representing SLH Dance Academy in the St Mary’s Panto “Cinderella”. Do go and support them as it is sure to be a fantastic show as always.
For more information and to buy tickets please see http://www.stmaryspanto.org/.
Tickets are available for performances between Saturday 12 and Saturday 19 January 2019 at very reasonable prices.
Uniform and hair
A reminder that correct uniform MUST be worn to all classes please. A full list of our requirements can be viewed here https://slhdanceacademy.com/uniform/
Please ensure hair is neatly groomed for classes with a ballet bun for all ballet classes. It really does make a difference in how the children dance in class when they look and feel the part. Thank you to those pupils who do attend class neatly groomed and dressed correctly each week.
You can contact our uniform supplier Jenny of “Limelight Dancewear” on 01825 765555
Invoices
Invoices for the new term will be sent out in the next few weeks so please keep an eye on your inboxes. Please make sure fees are paid by the due date on the invoice and remember that at least 3 weeks’ notice must be given if your child wishes to stop a class. I will assume that your child wishes to continue a class unless I am told otherwise and therefore an invoice will be sent!!
If your child would like to try a new class in the New Year please let me know ASAP so I can reserve them a space!
Pre-School classes
Have you got a younger child that watches their older siblings dance and wants to follow in their footsteps? Don’t forget we start children from 2 years old and have a few different Pre-School sessions available for the New Year on Mondays and Tuesdays. Get in touch with me to find out more details and book them in for a taster session in January. Please do share details with any friends with little ones who may also be interested!
Beginners Tap on Mondays 3.45pm-4.15pm
I have had an increase in pupils wanting to start tap dancing this term! We do still have spaces in our beginners tap class on Mondays 3.45pm-4.15pm @ Malling Community Centre. This is suitable for children in Reception-Year 2 so drop me a message if your son or daughter would like to give it a go in January. Limited spaces available so don’t leave it too late to book in!
Tap is great for improving co-ordination and rhythm!
Ballet classes for 4 years +
As always our ballet classes are extremely busy with many classes holding a waiting list. We do however have spaces available in our Monday afternoon class 4.45pm-5.15pm for children aged 4-6years old. This is one of our only classes with spaces left for this age group so get in touch if you would like to book your son or daughter in to this class.
